Our Sacrament
The Journey of Sacred Mushrooms
For over 12,000 years, sacred mushrooms have been revered—first by Paleolithic ancestors, then as a central sacrament in indigenous traditions. Outlawed in the mid-20th century, they are now recognized by leading researchers and medical institutions for their potential to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. Once painted on cave walls, now published in medical journals—their wisdom is finally being rediscovered.
At Psanctuary, we acknowledge the ancient truth that modern research is only beginning to uncover. Sacred mushrooms heal at the soul level, balancing and repairing the energetic roots of disease. We recognize that all life is a manifestation of energy, and through this lens, sacred mushrooms offer profound transformation.

Your Constitutional Right to Commune
The Journey of Sacred Mushrooms

Your sacred mushroom practice is both a divine and constitutional right. However, we live in a time where you may be required to defend these rights. Psanctuary exists to support, empower, and protect those who honor sacred mushrooms as a sacrament for healing and spiritual growth.
Legal precedents across the country highlight the importance of active participation in a recognized congregation that asserts its constitutional right to practice its faith. As a Psanctuary member, you are part of a constitutionally protected, peer-led community that carries forward decades of wisdom in sacramental practice, education, and empowerment.
For more on your rights and protections, see our Legal Notice.
Ministership: Empowering You to Commune
We empower individuals to develop their own sacred practice. Ministership provides the knowledge and support to commune with the sacrament independently and, if called, hold space for family and friends. Our model is peer-led, rooted in accessibility, and built on ongoing connection— a shared, sacred practice rather than a service to be bought or sold.
We are actively working toward making ministership low or no cost, removing financial barriers so that anyone called to this path has the opportunity. For those wishing to cultivate their own sacrament at home, ministers also receive discounted access to Fungi Academy’s Mushroom Cultivation course.

The Journey of Sacred Mushrooms
A Sacred Offering:
Transmuting Abundance Into Devotion

In a world where psilocybin is often bought and sold, we choose devotion over profit, sincerity over transaction. The sacrament we burned in this ceremony was aged and no longer ideal for communion, yet it still carried sacred significance. Rather than let it drift into misuse or commodification, we chose to honor it through fire, transmuting its essence into an offering of gratitude and reverence.
What could have been sold on the black market was instead returned to the elements, proving our sincerity—not just in words, but in action. Watch the video above or read the full blog post here.

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of ten thousand things.
Ever desireless, one can see the mystery.
Ever desiring, one can see the manifestations.
These two spring from the same source but differ in name;
this appears as darkness.
Darkness within darkness.
The gate to all mystery.
