Weekend Events for Psanctuary Members
For many of us, the most impactful part of our practice with Psanctuary is the time we spent together in ceremony. There, friendships are made and bonds are created around our experiences with the mushroom. We learn to support ourselves and each other before, during, and after our journeys.
Ceremonies are open to church members with an active membership and who have completed the prerequisite Foundations Course.

The information below provides an overview of what to expect from our ceremonies, but because so much goes into safe, meaningful journey preparation, is not fully comprehensive.
If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail us at info@psanctuary.org and we'll be happy to respond or schedule a call.
Overview

Our experience is that meaningful community ceremonies are enhanced when we gather in nature and away from the distractions of our daily lives. This helps create a container for journeys that enables a deeper connection to self, other, and with the mushroom.

Participants joining us must be comfortable with camping outdoors.

Facilities & Booking

Ceremonies take place over the course of a weekend with a late Friday afternoon arrival and early Sunday afternoon departure.
For 2026, they are taking place in beautiful space nestled in rural south-central Kentucky.
Attendees must book a Hipcamp site starting at $38/night (plus applicable feeds) for each night and are asked to bring their own camping gear, food, water, and any comforts they may desire during the weekend.
Indoor structures are also available ranging from $75-$200/night, though spaces are limited to availability.

Outdoor showers and bathrooms are available, but please note accessibility to indoor restroom facilities may be limited during ceremony.

Donations are appreciated to help support our community, but are not required.

A Note about Weather
We actively monitor weather conditions around ceremony dates. In the case of inclement, impact may range from adjusting our placement on the property away from the riverside to rescheduling the event in severe cases.

Safety is always our priority when making decisions about the impacts of weather.
Preparation

Participating in a ceremony starts with intention days, weeks, or even months before the event. We may cultivate our spirit in many ways: journaling, prayer, meditation, attention to nutrition and other practices. The more attuned we are in our spiritual practice, the more prepared we may be to receive what a journey may reveal.

One way we prepare as a group is our pre-ceremony call one week before the event. During this online gathering, participants and space holders come together to begin collectively creating a container for the weekend.

The call begins with a guided mediation or grounding exercise. We then introduce ourselves and share a little about our intentions for the weekend. The call is also a time to review our agreements for participation, ask questions, and to seek or provide support.
It can also be an exciting to discover who in the community will be joining the event.

Weekend Itinerary
Friday

Fridays are relaxed. We arrive around late afternoon or early in the evening to set camp and gather in fellowship. It is a time to unwind from one's normal routines, connect with the group, and orient into the ceremony space.

After the sun sets, we gather around a fire under the stars. This brings us closer together before we turn in for a restful night for the day to come.
Saturday

Saturday is the day when the weeks of preparation come together for participants and space holders.

The mornings tend to have a quiet, joyful air and members may prepare in different ways: walking in nature, fasting, yoga, meditation - whatever suits their preparation. Many gather for coffee and conversation.

However members choose to spend the time leading up to the ceremony is up to them.
When the time comes,
we gather for ceremony.

Lead space holders bring participants together and guide everyone in grounding and preparation exercises. Intentions are shared, rules of the space are discussed, and after some final words, we commune.

During the ceremony, members are given the space to experience their journey as it comes without influence. Space holders maintain the container with a quiet presence and may be called upon by a participant.
As journeys comes to a close, participants are welcomed with nourishing food and community. Everyone's time in the mushroom space is different - so this time is gradient and unique to the makeup of the group.
When evening sets in, we are together again around the fire, replenishing ourselves with food and camaraderie.
And so a new chapter begins for our community.
Sunday

Sundays are a day of rejuvenation and reflection. After a slow start and a quiet breakfast, participants and space holders gather to begin integrating their experiences. This is a space for reflection, where new insights begin to emerge, and it lays the groundwork for continued integration on the individual and community levels.

After this final gathering, there is a little time for closing conversations and goodbyes before departure.
Continued Integration & Community
In the days and weeks after we return home, we continue to integrate our ceremony experiences. Psanctuary endeavors to provide members with a number of ways to stay involved with the community and to create spaces where integration becomes a regular practice in our lives.

Below are some of the ways we stay engaged to continue growing together.
Post Ceremony Call
One week after the ceremony, gather for a post-ceremony integration call. It can be uplifting to hear how fellow participants are integrating discoveries made with the sacrament and learn about the impact the weekend has had.
Find Each Other on Mighty
Since every ceremony receives a space within our Mighty Network platform, it's easy to stay connected with new friends made over the course of the weekend.
Monthly Integration Calls
All Psanctuary members gain access to our bi-weekly integration calls. This is another great place to share insights and reflections and to learn about how other members are integrating their own experiences.
Want to learn more about integration?
We offer courses that provide opportunities for deeper understanding with our sacrament, including tools and practices for integration.
Requirements for Participation

In order to participate in our group ceremonies, participants must:
• Maintain an active membership with Psanctuary Church
• Complete a 4-Week Foundations Course
• Hold sincerely held religious beliefs aligned with participation in sacrament
• Be able to travel to the ceremony location
• Cover the cost of the Hipcamp booking (minimum two-night stay)
• Bring necessary camping equipment, personal comforts, and sufficient food and water for the weekend
Donations
Our ceremonies are offered freely and donations are never required to participate.
At the same time, we need support to continue this work. Maintaining the church by supporting staff, training ministers and volunteers, and sustaining the network and infrastructure that allows our community to continue, does involve real costs.
If you feel moved to support the church, we ask you to contribute in alignment with your means and the value you feel you receive from the ceremonies and the community.
Every contribution helps keep this space available for others.
