A mother of four, Courtney continues to build this work alongside her family, guided by a belief that our sacrament should be accessible, relational, and rooted in care.

Personal Statement

I’ve been blessed beyond measure to be immersed in work with the mushroom for the past 12 years, including co-founding an international retreat center in Jamaica where I supported hundreds of amazing humans through thousands of transformative experiences.

After being arrested in Indiana in 2015 for underground work with the mushroom, I made a clear decision to help ensure that my family and community have safe, legally protected, and empowered access to this spiritual practice. That commitment became a defining force in the creation of Psanctuary in late 2020 when my family decided to move from Jamaica back to our home in Kentucky.

Across both my work in Jamaica and Psanctuary, I’ve served as an Executive Director and have held a central role as both the head and heart of our mushroom work. I’ve created and led community agreements and relational workshops that support people in coming back into connection, especially when it’s most challenging. I’ve also been at the forefront of developing our courses, helping train a peer-supported network to prepare for ceremony at home and in acts of service and reciprocity within our community.

Today, my work is focused on what comes before and after the initial breakthrough in ceremony. Through Psanctuary, I help individuals integrate these experiences into lasting change, grounded in sincerity, compassion, curiosity, and individual liberty. My intention is to support transformation that not only shifts lives in the moment, but continues to ripple through relationships, families, and future generations.
