Eric Osborne

M.Ed., Co-Founder, Board President and Community Minister, Kentucky

Biography

Eric brings over 27 years of direct experience working with sacred mushrooms, a journey that began in 1999 and has since shaped one of the most credentialed careers in the psilocybin space.

In 2012, Eric co-founded MycoMeditations in Jamaica with Courtney, one of the world's first public psilocybin-assisted wellness retreats, where he served as lead facilitator, administering over 3,000 guided psilocybin sessions over nearly a decade. His approach was informed not only by hands-on facilitation, but by deep study of the sacrament's roots, including the work of María Sabina and informed by his ties to Jamaica's Rasta community dating back to his first journey in 2003.

Eric holds a Master's Degree in Education and is Indiana's first state-certified Wild Mushroom Expert, credentialed by the Indiana State Board of Health. He is the founder of PLEDG Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing psilocybin therapy scholarships with a focus on the African Diaspora and First Responders, and co-founder of Psacred Therapeutics, a psilocybin mushroom farm in Jamaica.

A father of four, Eric continues to build this work alongside his family, rooted in the belief that safe, equitable access to sacred mushrooms is both a spiritual right and a public good.

Eric co-developed Psanctuary's journey and space holding Courses with his partner and Psanctuary Co-founder, Courtney.  He also hosts The Psanctuary Podcast, where you can learn more about  our community.

Personal Statement

My journey with the sacred mushrooms began in 1999 when I was but nineteen years old. Raised Catholic and an avid student of sacred texts, I began to understand these mushrooms as the primary sacrament very shortly after my first encounter with them. While in the conceptual stages of establishing the Church of Soma in 2015, without religious protection, I was arrested for providing access to the sacrament.

From my research and experience it is evident that psilocybin mushrooms are Nature’s primary sacrament, a gift allowing humans to transcend the mundane and experience the world of energy and spirit that is the foundation of all existence.  I do not worship any deity, rather I recognize that all life, all existence is the Creative Source experiencing itself. What we call this Creative Source can never truly signify the underlying, ineffable reality.

By communing with sacred mushrooms, we are able to more closely encounter this innate divinity and gain a greater awareness of the perfection and glory of the Universe in which we dwell. It is my greatest honor to be of service in this capacity, may this be my endless hymn of praise to the Great Mystery from whence we all came.

"The benefits of a safe, spiritually-focused communion with sacred mushrooms have far-reaching potential to improve the lives of millions of people."
